Position Summary:

CPPP seeks a Director of Finance and Administration to maintain and oversee CPPP’s financial operations and accounting functions. We are seeking a highly skilled accounting professional with an eye to continuously develop and improve our financial systems and processes. The Director of Finance and Administration will report to the Chief Executive Officer and is a member of CPPP’s Executive Team, which also includes the Chief Operating Officer, Communications Director, and Legislative and Policy Director. This position also will work closely with the Finance and Audit Committees of the Board of Directors, as well as Major Gifts Manager, Grants Manager, and other senior directors. The Director of Finance and Administration supervises and works closely with the Manager of Administration.

Roles and responsibilities:
•    Oversee and be accountable for the success of all finance, administration, and human capital functions of the organization
•    Drive the financial planning of the company by developing the annual budget and analyzing performance and risks
•    Prepare and manage all grant budgets and allocations
•    Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems
•    Oversee the company’s accounting system
•    Set targets for and supervise the Manager of Administration
•    Oversee all audit, tax preparation and internal control operations
•    Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance and forecast analysis
•    Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines
•    Work cross-departmentally to ensure effective integration and reconciliation of financial information
•    Serve as a member of the Executive Team and contribute at a leadership level to the overall health and success of the organization
•    Other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer

Required qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting, preferably in the nonprofit sector
•    Experience with grant fiscal management
•    Technologically savvy and proficient with accounting software
•    Proven record of delivering on generally accepted accounting principles and practices, particularly nonprofit revenue recognition rules
•    Proof of producing clean audits in prior accounting positions
•    Demonstrated resourcefulness in implementing efficient financial systems

Bonus qualifications (not required):
•    MA/MBA in Business, Management, or Finance or MPA in accounting
•    Experience with QuickBooks accounting software
•    Experience overseeing human resources
•    A demonstrated commitment to CPPP’s vision and mission
